Constance A. Camus is of counsel to SRIS, P.C. Ms. Camus focuses her practice on Family Law, Domestic Violence, Probate and appellate work. Ms. Camus also practices criminal law, both felonies and misdemeanors, including all sex offenses including child pornography, drug and alcohol charges. She appears regularly before the Prince George's, Montgomery and Anne Arundel County Courts in Maryland . Ms. Camus has in fact appeared before all Maryland State County courts. Ms. Camus was born in Washington, D.C. on June 15,1957 and is a lifelong resident of Prince George 's County. She received a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Maryland in 1986, and her Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law in 1994 where she was a member of the Moot Court Team for three years and Captain in 1993-1994 Moot Court competition. Ms. Camus was admitted to the Maryland bar in 1997 - having passed the exam on the initial attempt - and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Maryland and U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia . Ms. Camus was prevailing counsel in the Intercom Systems Corporation v. Bell Atlantic of Maryland, Inc., 135 Md. App. 624 (2000), a published decision in the Court of Special Appeals, which established the right to a jury trial for claims against a public utility after the exhaustion of all administrative remedies. This decision was upheld in the Court of Appeals. This appellate success was one of a few argued by Ms. Camus. Ms. Camus is a member of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Prince George County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Prince George County Women's Bar Association (Treasurer, 2000-2001); and the Alan Goldstein Inn of Court (Co-Chairman ).
