Cristyn D. Clifton is an associate at SRIS, P.C.  Ms. Clifton primarily practices in the areas of Family and Criminal Law, (felonies and misdemeanors), as well as handling traffic matters.

Ms. Clifton was born in Northern New Jersey on April 24, 1973 and moved to Baltimore City in 2005.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 1997 and her Juris Doctor Degree from Seton Hall School of Law in 2002.  While in law school, Ms. Clifton served as the Director of the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board; was a member of Seton Hall Law's Interscholastic Moot Court Team; won the Eugene Eugene Gressman Intrascholastic Appellate Advocacy Moot Court
Competition; and was a semi-finalist in the March 2002 Thurgood Marshall Constitutional Law Competition, sponsored by the Federal Bar Association, Washington, DC.   She is admitted to the Maryland and New Jersey State bars, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Since entering the legal profession, Ms. Clifton has accumulated broad-based experience in both the criminal and civil arenas.  Prior to joining our firm, she worked in private practice, as an attorney with Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, an international law firm, where she worked on a class action lawsuit.  She also did work for Jones Day and McGuire Woods, LLP on the discovery phases of respective anti-trust and patent-infringement litigations, as well as on a shareholder's derivative suit.

Ms. Clifton entered the civil arena after spending some time with the State's Attorney's Office for Baltimore City-first as an Investigator for the Identity-Theft Unit and thereafter as an Assistant State's Attorney, where she prosecuted incarcerable and non-incarcerable traffic violations as well as other misdemeanor criminal offenses.  In the former capacity, Ms. White assisted victims in restoring their lives and reputations after others used their identities in connection with various criminal offenses.

Ms. Clifton was also a judicial law clerk for a judge in Civil Part, in the Middlesex County Superior Court.  While there, she  assisted the Judge with his two-week motion cycles and was exposed to a wide variety of civil  areas of procedural and substantive law, some of which included the Tort Claims Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employees Act, Workers Compensation, toxic torts, environmental law, the post-AICRA verbal threshold, Under- and Uninsured Motorist coverage.

Ms. Clifton's professional experience leaves her well-equipped to arrive at creative solutions and to think outside the box.  She is dedicated to the law; takes pride in her work and will expend every effort to achieve the best results for her clients.
